Portway Family Practice

Important Information

Suppling face masks exemption letters to patients.

We have had an increase in requests from patients for letters of exemption to wearing face masks in various public settings.

Our response follows the UK Government guidance and supported by the British Medical Association.

The Government guidance suggests there is no requirement for evidence for exemption. It should be sufficient for someone to declare that they are eligible for an exemption direct with the person questioning them (e.g. Bus Drivers)

Practices are therefore not required to provide letters of support for those who fall under the list of exemptions, or to those who do not fall under the list of exemptions.

For more information please see the gov.uk website

Comments and Suggestions

Patient satisfaction is a high priority to us here at Portway Family Practice. Please do feedback to us your views and comments about any aspect of the service you receive.

Suggestions as to how we can improve are very welcome and discussed at our regular staff meetings.  You can contact the Practice Manager, speak to the receptionists or drop a note in the Suggestion Box in the waiting room.

Formal Complaints

There are obviously times when you feel we don’t get everything right and you may wish to lodge a more formal complaint. This may concern any aspect of medical care or administrative service. All formal complaints are handled initially by our Practice Manager , Mrs Natalie Dugmore and we follow the national guidelines for managing complaints. We aim to resolve these as quickly as we can.

How To Make a Complaint

Contact the Mrs Natalie Dugmore by letter, telephone or in person, giving details of the difficulty you have had. Indicate that you wish to make a complaint. Please be prepared to give details if possible. Portway Family Practice keeps confidential records of all complaints made. Mrs Natalie Dugmore will send you a comment/complaint form to complete if you request this.

A practice leaflet detailing the full complaints process is available on request or be viewed on our website.

Compliments

As well as suggestions and criticisms we would also be pleased to know of any aspect of the service that has particularly pleased you.
